Dev Kits in UK

I get fed up with getting hold of Chips and Dev boards in the UK.

I need a EKC-LM3S6965 dev board.

I have 2 on order with Avnet Memec but after more than a week they have not turned up.

Farnell list them but they have no stock.

I have ordered stuff from the US in the past but these days I have to pay huge handling fees to pay the Sales Tax (VAT).

If I was in the US I could order from Mouser or Digikey today and get them really soon.

It is so frustrating.

The other thing is why are there three separate dev kits for the the LM3S6965?

I have the Keil version on order with Avnet Memec. I only want the board really I already have the tool chain installed.

Are the boards all the same ?

All the best from the garden of England.

Re:Dev Kits in UK

After over 2 weeks I have heard I will have my Dev Kit tomorrow.

Yippee.

I presume they will be in stock at Farnell soon which will be great news for those in Europe to be able to get things fast.

Re:Dev Kits in UK

Well on 19th March 2008 they still haven't got any. Seems Luminary is not a good way to go for potential UK users.

Re:Dev Kits in UK

Interesting - even though the archive is supposed to be locked, some post still seem to allow replies.

Anyway, I doubt that responding to a request for a dev kit almost 2 years later is going to be that useful.
