More sections in the forum

Hello,
I think I would be a good idea to have more sections in the forum.
Too many posts fall in the "general section" making the search option very difficult to use...

Would be better if there were more specific sections.

For example, one dedicated to peripherals & settings, another dedicated to libraries & C programming... and so on...

Re:More sections in the forum

Yes, it would be nice if everyone thought carefully about their posts and considered which section would be the most appropriate. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be the case.

Of the comparable forums I see, having more sections just seems to give more opportunity to post inappropriately!

It also assumes that all questions will fit nicely into exactly one category:

one dedicated to peripherals & settings, another dedicated to libraries & C programming
So where would one post a question about doing peripheral settings in C, then...?

Re:More sections in the forum

You both make good points.

One reason against adding sections is the extra effort/delay forced upon forum users.
Yet - would you ever buy/read a reference book without a clear/detailed chapter delineation?

As a past educator - I believe that each poster should "strive" to describe their topic as clearly & concisely as possible.
Most posts are emotion-driven (why can't I make this work?) and too little thought is directed to clarity of the post's title. This severely weakens the search mechanism.
