UART sample project

The Stellaris LM3S811 Evaluation Kit blocks when the sample project 'uart_out' is programmed. It is impossible to do any operations with MCU - erasing, programming, debuging.
In this case do not reinstall software and/or drivers - it is need only to remove JP3 and JP4 0 ohm resistors, erase MCU and work after that as before (resistors can be assembled back).

Re:UART sample project

We have never seen this problem before. Did you make any modifications to the application before programming it to the board?

Re:UART sample project

No, the application is just the same included in examples folder after Keil software instalation. I wanted only check its workability.

Re:UART sample project

Same here. The eval board is now a doorstop; it even crashes some part of the virtual com port mechanism - having exited HyperTerminal, it declares upon restarting that the port is busy. Trying to disable the port (in hopes that it might free up the FTDI's USB channel for the JTAG end of things) causes the Windows hardware manager to hang.

Off to find a diagram locating J3 and J4, and 2 soldering irons.

OK, what joker placed the 0-ohms within 2 mm of the OLED display?

Re:UART sample project

Fixed - trying other PCs, I could not find one that wasn't thwarted by the piles of text being thrown its way; I did, however, find somebody who could unsolder JP3 and JP4 without melting the display.
