Would be really useful to have a file with all the changes so we can decide whether to upgrade or not.
I understand why its done but because the revision number is included in the text of every file, when i update what is held on our svn server, every single file has changed so i cant even work out what the upgrade has changed myself!

@LMI - Second Tim's suggestion: identify the essence of change in the new library release.
It appears that some PDL updates may be primarily vendor-specific (IAR, Keil etc) Others - especially those with fixes or improved functionality - likely warrant the upgrade effort.
@Tim - can't tell if you intend to "mix" files from different revisions. This may cause problems downstream...

no, i delete the lot and then copy in the new files, then commit.
It only commits files where the contents have changed, however, they are all changed!
