programming LM3s6918

i am a student of electronics engg.doing project on luminary stellaris IDM-RDK having ethernet enability.
i want to know procedure of programming kit through JTAG debugger (ULINK2).i am unable to download sample program in kit. it gives an error 'flash download failed-target dll has been cancelled'
please suggest a solution on this.

I'll have to get back to you on Monday after I talk to some of the other guys who use ULink but, in case you are not aware, the IDM should be programmable via ethernet using the LM Flash utility. This assumes, of course, that you have a recent version of the board that has the Ethernet bootloader in flash (it was introduced a couple of months ago as far as I can remember).

I had this error year, year + half ago and recall that it was caused by an incorrect choice in the Keil set-up. Something like Program>Options>Download there is a "drop-down" requiring you to select from among FTDI, ULink, etc.

Further - LMI's newer boards (your 6918) support non-Jtag debug/programming via use of the FTDI chip. In some cases they default to FTDI - check your quick start & other manuals for set-up procedure...

yeah IDM is programmable via ethernet but again it needs MAC address of kit,how to get it?

In order to use ULINK2, you need to make sure the uVision project is configured to use the ULINK2. In uVision, go to the Project-->Option menu. You will see an "Options" dialog box with several tabs. Select the "Debug" tab and there you will find a drop-down box on the right. From the drop-down box, select the "ULINK Cortex Debugger" option. Then click on the "Utilities" tab and make the same choice. Then click OK on the Options dialog box and your target should now be configured to use ULINK2.

I tried the same for many times i.e i selected JTAG CORTEX DEBUGGER in debug as well as in utilities. But i am still getting the same error.
Again i tried to download the program using LM flash programmer.In configuration under interface i selected JTAG-FTDI interface but there i am getting error that "unable to connect to target". Are there any other settings required in LM flash programmer to dowmload the program???
I also tried to download the program through serial port.Kit responds to the basic program of accesing the door and gives reply on the hyper terminal.But i am unable to download the new program on it.
Please kindly give the solutions for the same.
