1GB SD (Micro, Mini, Std, & USB) $9!

Greetings:

Blundered into $9 Dane "4 in 1" Micro SD memory uniquely including USB Adapter! At Target - seems ideal for connection & hacking purposes - in addition to data storage/transport.

*** Don't believe that for this price they include "massage" electronics to extend SD to USB. So - does this imply that "if" we can talk to SD we can talk to USB - with same hardware & minimal extra software? (and vice-versa?)

Know that many here want to data-log or store large data. We're greatly impressed with the size/cost of Micro SD - getting a "hacker-delight" set of adapters is a further benefit...

Re:1GB SD (Micro, Mini, Std, & USB) $9!

we have an application using micro sd cards.

initially we only needed a few mb and were going to use an eeprom but for similar money we get the sd cards with loads of space and in the end we used fatfs so the data is pc readable!

Hi-

Have you been able to both write & read to the micro SD? Which brand, capacity?

Have you tried USB? Can you write/read it as well. Which brand, capacity?

Thanks... other success/failure reports sought for the benefit of all...

Re:1GB SD (Micro, Mini, Std, & USB) $9!

@Tim124-

Thank you - would you be good enough to supply part/model no. so others can purchase/try? Also - has Kingston a 2GB version?

Did you master the FatFs entirely from LMI Ap Notes/Data or did you find other info sources for guidance? I'm sure a brief listing & basic guidance would be appreciated and useful to many.

Kindly tell us which LMI devices you have verified this with too.

Thanks again for this & your other posts...
