Trouble w/ EKK-LM3S2965 CAN Evkit (Linux, OpenOCD)
I've had success with some of the other Dev/Evboards (ACIM, IDM) but not with the 2965/CAN kit. This kit uses a different JTAG than I'm used to, and I can't tell where the problem is.
I'm using Ubuntu Linux, and have tried both precompiled and bleeding-edge compile-it-yourself OpenOCD. Very very occasionally, OpenOCD will sync up with either the master board or the slave board, and I can download and run a program. However, even when I get the slave board running (just blinking the LED), I get a bus fault after a few seconds or minutes. I can't tell what the cause of the fault is by backtracking through the stack -- it doesn't look like anything bad should have happened.
I've tried just powering the slave board with 5V, completely disconnected from JTAG & CAN, but with known-working LED blinking code in it, and it doesn't do anything at all. (Oddly, pressing reset draws a LOT of current, although I can't see why it should based on the schematic.)
I'm at a loss...any ideas for things to try?
