RDK-IDM-L35 with CAN!

Looking at the beautiful Landscape QVGA RDK Kit, I would like to have an optional CAN interface. Looking through the Schematics, I think changing the processor to an LM3S2965 would do the trick. A CAN transceiver could at this Hardware version be attached to the already on connector available pins, where CAN0 RX/TX are on the LM3S2965 (PD0/PD1 Pin 10/11).

I see a good market opportunity for such a modul.

It would be great to have a CAN transceiver onboard to be able to talk with your other CAN development boards + the CAN device boards that come with them.

There would definitely be a market for a CAN display / interface that could act as a CAN-ethernet and/or CAN-serial bridge.

I would like to suggest including support for CANfestival - an open source CANopen framework, that would make your Lumin boards easy to use with standard CANopen devices, as either master or slave.

Would there be anyone interested in helping port CANfestival for the Luminary target? Would Luminary be interested in including this in their DriverLib like FatFS, lwIP, etc.?

Reviewing the Schematic of the Display: use LM3S2948 (also 8AD inputs) instead LM3S2965. This should be software/hardware compatible
