Re:New app notes and Boot Loader

Eric,

I have downloaded zip file from the location you notify. Zip file with size of 8.82MB contain 2 files, very short jtag_unlock.exe about 9kB And very large registry2.txt about 114MB after unzip. What is purpose of so large registry2.txt?
I have tried start it under Win XP and the system told me that I have to reinstall mentioned program.

I don’t know how to use above utilities.

I have also found jtag_gpio on my CD,

and by reading explentation I conclude that this is example for using JTAG pins as GPIO and then by pressing user button back it as JTAG. This is OK when the device is not locked.

When I made mistake with programming some of JTAG pins as GPIO I didn’t made this mechanism for backing to JTAG pins, so the device has left locked.

Does the serial bootloader in that case could help?

Are there any possibilities to alive programming for that locked device on my 3S811 evaluation board or I have to physical put another chip on my board.

Regards,

Zoran.

Re:New app notes and Boot Loader

Oops... that registry file shouldn't have been in there - I meant to copy a readme file.

You can download the utility again to view the readme file. All you need to do is run the executable, and it will connect to your board and unlock it.

Re:New app notes and Boot Loader

I'm having some trouble using the bootloader.
Maybe I've overlooked something in one of the App Notes, but I don't see instructions for what has to be modified in the application. I've tried changing the linker file to get all the code to start at 0x800, but maybe there's more I need to do.

Also, maybe unrelated, with IAR tools, when starting to debug the bootloader, I get this warning: is it OK?

LMI FTDI Driver
__vector_table symbol not found.
e_entry value: 0x00000470 does not match reset vector value: 0x00000000
Initial SP_main value:0xE0000470 uncertain.
