SPI

The data sheet for the 6965 states :-

"Bit rates are supported to 2 MHz and higher"

and just a few lines later :-

"Note that although the SSIClk transmit clock can theoretically be 25 MHz, the module may not be
able to operate at that speed"

I have heard this sort of Language in others Data sheets who shall remain nameless. No blow it I will name and shame it was www.Digi.com claimed that the UART could go up to 230K Baud. This was of course not true and we have it running at 250K Baud 24 Hours a day and 7 Days a week.

I have recently been using Philips LPC chips and they seem to avoid such language and actually tell you what the Damn module can do.

Can you tell me how fast the SPI clock can go in Master Transmit mode ???? The chip will be run at 50Mhz.

I would love to know as it is a vital feature for my project.

It would be really nice to have a data sheet that actually told you what the chip can do. If Luminary do not know who does ???

All the best.
