Luminary Micro and Unirep Electronics Sign Stocking Agreement Luminary Micro and Unirep Electronics Sign Stocking Agreement for Stellaris® Microcontroller Products
New Stocking Representative Also Co-Hosting Stellaris ARM® Cortex™-M3 User Seminar in Paris on 08 February 2007
Portet-sur-Garonne, France – 16 January 2007 – Unirep Electronics, and Luminary Micro, the leading provider of ARM® Cortex™-M3 processor-based microcontrollers, announced today they have entered into an agreement for Unirep to be the stocking representative for Luminary Micro’s Stellaris family of microcontroller products. Effective immediately, customers will have access to Stellaris microcontroller products through Unirep’s sales and support centers in France.
"We are very excited to add Luminary Micro’s Stellaris microcontrollers to our linecard,” said Jerome Duffau, Managing Director, Unirep. “With cost effective microcontrollers starting at $1 for ARM Cortex-M3-based processors, Stellaris microcontrollers are very complementary to Unirep’s current lineup of ARM-based microcontrollers and round out our offerings in our industrial-use products.”
Luminary Micro’s Stellaris family of microcontrollers currently contains 19 feature-rich microcontrollers, supported by cost-effective development kits and low-cost evaluation kits, all available through Unirep. The Stellaris line of MCUs is targeted at embedded and industrial applications, such as building and home automation; factory automation and control; industrial control power devices; stepper motors; brushed and brushless DC motors; and AC induction motors.
Unirep is also partnering with Antycip, a distributor of Keil Software tools, to co-host a Stellaris user seminar to be held in Paris, France on the 8th of February, 2007. Detailed information on the seminar can be found at http://www.unirep.fr/EVENT/event.html or by contacting Mme Maria Urzay at +33 (0) 5 62 20 01 25 or email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
“The seminar will provide users a detailed examination of the ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller core and its silicon adaptations – which of course is only currently found in Luminary Micro’s Stellaris family,” continued Jerome Duffau. “Attendees will be provided with a hands-on functional evaluation of the microcontroller, available tools and development kits.”
"We are delighted with the strategic partnership with Unirep Electronics in France," said Arline Nieder, vice president of Sales, Luminary Micro. "Unirep has over 20 years’ experience and has built a solid reputation of relationships with its principals, boasts an outstanding logistics model as well as a very capable design-in support infrastructure. Together we will reach customers in many locations and market segments that we would otherwise not be able to serve effectively.
“Additionally, the user seminar, in conjunction with Antycip, emphasizes Unirep’s commitment to Stellaris and getting necessary information into the hands of embedded developers,” Nieder continued. “Undoubtedly this agreement will allow us to continue our saturation with a pervasive 32-bit ARM-based MCU solution that will help break down traditional cost barriers between 8-/16- and 32-bit designs, enabling embedded developers to consolidate their software platforms and tool chain costs across their entire product line.”
