Integrated Serial Interfaces
Several members in the Stellaris Family of ARM® Cortex™-M3 microcontrollers feature either a fully integrated 10/100 Ethernet MAC and PHY or integrated Bosch CAN networking technology, the golden standard in short-haul industrial networks. In addition, Stellaris MCUs feature up to 3 UARTs, 2 I2Cs, and up to 2 SSIs. Together with larger on-chip memories, enhanced power management, and expanded I/O and control capabilities, these Stellaris family members are optimized for industrial applications requiring reliable control and connectivity, including Remote Monitoring, Electronic Point-of-Sale Machines, Test and Measurement Equipment, Network Appliances and Switches, Factory Automation, HVAC and Building Control, Gaming Equipment, Motion Control, Medical Instrumentation, and Fire and Security.

The Stellaris® family is the first to offer ARM® Cortex™-M3 microcontrollers with USB 2.0 Full Speed Host/Device capability. The integrated USB controller operates as a function controller for a full-speed or low-speed host or device in point-to-point or multipoint (hub) communications with USB functions. The controller complies with the USB 2.0 standard, which includes suspend and resume signaling.![]()

The Stellaris® family is the first to offer ARM® Cortex™-M3 microcontrollers with USB 2.0 Full Speed On-The-Go (OTG) capability. The integrated USB controller operates as a function controller for a full-speed or low-speed device in point-to-point communications with USB host, device, or OTG functions.

Stellaris Family of ARM® Cortex™-M3 microcontrollers featuring a fully integrated 10/100 Ethernet MAC and PHY. The device conforms to the IEEE 802.3-2002 Specification, supports 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX/FX IEEE 802.3 full and half duplex operation, integrates the 10/100 Mbps Transceiver (PHY), and features Automatic MDI/MDI-X cross-over correction, a programmable MAC address, promiscuous mode support, a 2KB Transmit FIFO / 2KB Receive FIFO, and Power-saving and power-down modes.

Stellaris® Family of ARM® Cortex™-M3 microcontrollers featuring a fully integrated 10/100 Ethernet MAC/PHY augmented with hardware assisted IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) capability, enabling synchronization of distributed real-time clocks in a packet-based multicast network.

Stellaris Family of ARM® Cortex™-M3 microcontrollers featuring fully integrated Bosch CAN networking technology, the golden standard in short-haul industrial networks. Stellaris devices include up to 2 Bosch-licensed CAN controllers, each of which supports CAN protocol version 2.0 part A/B, bit rates up to 1Mb/s, and 32 message objects, each with own identifier mask. Each CAN also features maskable interrupt, disable for automatic retransmission mode for TTCAN, and a programmable loop-back mode for self test operation.

The Stellaris® family is the first to offer ARM® Cortex™-M3 microcontrollers with USB 2.0 Full Speed On-The-Go (OTG) capability or USB 2.0 Full Speed Host/Device integrated alongside Bosch CAN technology.
